John is Director of Strategic Partnerships at Stand Together, a philanthropic community tackling the root causes of America’s biggest problems. In this role, he brings together business, policy, and nonprofit leaders to address barriers holding people back from reaching their full potential.

John advances solutions and initiatives related to workforce development, criminal justice reform, and immigration reform by cultivating partnerships with the business community, focusing on areas of shared vision, shared values, and complementary capabilities. He leads Stand Together’s efforts to remove barriers to employment for people with a criminal record and helped develop the Second Chance Business Coalition, an initiative comprised of 40 of the nation’s largest employers. The initiative promotes the benefits of second chance employment and provides employers with tools and resources to hire and provide career advancement to those with a criminal record.

John joined Stand Together, most recently from the National Association of Manufacturers, where he developed unique partnerships and thought leadership programming on business and operational excellence helping U.S. manufacturers succeed.

He began his career working on the legislative staff of Senator Joseph Liberman (I-CT) and earned his B.A. in political science and philosophy from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
